The Town Hall features a copper and glass-clad steel tower reaching 85.6 meters, with bronze statues above the entrance representing mining, trade, science, and metallurgy.
Construction of the Town Hall began in November 1924 following designs by architects Kolář and Rubý, with completion and inauguration occurring on October 28, 1930.
The interior spaces display marble walls and mahogany details, while the meeting hall and council room contain decorative elements reflecting municipal governance.
The building continues to function as an administrative center, housing both county and city operations within its extensive complex of municipal offices.
Due to ground instability, architects replaced the original masonry tower design with a lightweight steel structure, creating the tallest town hall tower in the country.
