Estates Theatre, Opera house in Old Town, Prague, Czech Republic
The Estates Theatre stands as a Neoclassical building with three artistic divisions: opera, ballet, and drama performances throughout the year.
Architect Anton Haffenecker completed this theatre in 1783 following a commission from aristocrat Franz Anton von Nostitz-Rieneck during the Enlightenment period.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart conducted the premiere of his opera Don Giovanni at this theatre in October 1787, marking a significant moment in musical history.
The theatre offers guided tours in multiple languages, allowing visitors to explore the preserved interiors and learn about its architectural features.
Since 2000, the statue Il Commendatore by Anna Chromy, based on Mozart's Don Giovanni, stands at the theatre entrance.

The most important opera houses of the 19th century form an architectural group that reflects the history of classical music. These buildings, located in major world capitals, showcase various styles: neoclassical, neobaroque, modern. Their architectures reflect the evolution of acoustic techniques and performing arts. From the Teatro San Carlo in Naples to the Palais Garnier in Paris, these buildings are references in theatrical architecture.
