Count Hermann Czernin acquired the property in the mid-17th century and initiated the reconstruction of a Renaissance villa on the site of a Gothic stronghold.
The interior contains collections of porcelain, glass, earthenware, clocks, and furniture representing different periods of Czech and European craftsmanship.
The castle opens from April through October, Tuesday to Sunday between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, with guided tours available for visitors.
The surrounding 250-acre English landscape park includes a thousand-year-old oak tree and structures like Pan's Temple, an Obelisk, and various pavilions.
