Předmostí u Přerova, Archaeological site in Předmostí, Czech Republic
The excavation area spans 15 hectares at 250 meters elevation, containing numerous prehistoric remains within the Moravian Gate geographical formation.
Initial archaeological work between 1884 and 1930 revealed substantial evidence of human settlements dating from 37,000 to 24,000 years ago.
The site contains twenty burial locations within living areas, demonstrating specific funeral practices of Upper Paleolithic communities in Central Europe.
Visitors can explore the Educational Trail of Mammoth Hunters, which includes interpretation boards and leads to a prehistoric exhibition at Předmostí Elementary School.
The location yielded bones from one thousand mammoths, along with evidence of meat processing and a dog skeleton containing a mammoth bone.
