Klenová Castle, Gothic Revival castle ruin in Klenová, Czech Republic
The fortress consists of medieval ruins and a 19th-century chateau, situated on a hill near the town of Klatovy in southwest Bohemia.
The castle originated in 1287 as part of a frontier defense system, with the northern wall and western tower remaining from the original construction period.
The castle houses an art gallery with four exhibition halls displaying works by Czech artists, including F. Foltýn, V. Hejna, and E. Filla.
Visitors can explore the preserved castle prison in the round tower, walk through historical furniture displays, and examine the 17th-century tiled stove.
The Knight Hall contains sculptures of Czech princes by Josef Max, complemented by decorative helmets and shields from the castle collection.
