Žuráň, Memorial site at Zuran hill in South Moravia, Czech Republic

The granite memorial stands atop an artificial mound reaching 286 meters above sea level, featuring a bronze battlefield map displaying military positions.

Napoleon Bonaparte commanded his troops during the Battle of Austerlitz from this elevated position on December 2, 1805, leading to a decisive French victory.

Archaeological excavations between 1948 and 1950 revealed Germanic aristocratic burial chambers containing glass bowls and gold-embroidered clothing from the 5th century.

Visitors can reach the memorial by following a marked path from Slapanice town center, approximately one kilometer through the countryside.

The artificial mound contains multiple layers of history, from Bronze Age cremation burials to its role as Napoleon's command post during a major battle.
