Probošt's crib

The wooden nativity scene spans 6.89 meters in length, 1.89 meters in width, and 2.35 meters in height, containing over 2000 carved figures and parts.

Josef Probošt, Josef Kapucián, and Josef Friml completed this mechanical nativity scene in 1906, which later received national cultural monument status in 1999.

The Museum of Nativity Scenes in Třebechovice pod Orebem preserves this mechanical masterwork alongside 500 other nativity scenes from various periods and styles.

Visitors can explore the nativity scene at the museum from Tuesday through Sunday between 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

The nativity scene operates through an electric motor system that coordinates the movement of numerous wooden figures, creating synchronized mechanical displays.
