Hotel InterContinental Prague is a nine-story concrete structure in Old Town with geometric lines and tinted glass windows that overlook the river. Its rectangular form follows the style of modern hotel design from the 1970s.
The building was completed in 1974 as a significant project by four Czech architects who wanted to create a modern hotel type for the city. After the 2002 flood damage, it underwent substantial restoration and later renovation work.
The building emerged during a period when Prague needed modern accommodations for international visitors, and its heavy concrete design reflects the architectural trends that defined that era.
The hotel provides conference rooms, dining options, and numerous guest accommodations spread across different levels of the structure. The best time to visit is outside peak season when the area is less crowded and the architecture is easier to appreciate.
