FK Chmel Blšany, Football stadium in Blšany, Czech Republic

FK Chmel Blšany is a football stadium with a natural grass pitch and seating for about 2,300 spectators. The playing field meets standard dimensions and is surrounded by straightforward stands typical of regional sports venues.

The stadium's 2003 reconstruction, completed in February 2004, replaced seats, added a rear entrance to the main stand and renovated the dressing rooms. Because the pitch was too narrow, the club played most of 2003–04 at Stadion Na Litavce in Příbram. In 1995–96, FC Union Cheb played its spring league matches here.

The club's name Chmel means hops, and the stadium carries it as Stadion FK Chmel Blšany. The ground also served other clubs: FC Union Cheb played its entire 1995/96 spring league season here because its own Lokomotiva stadium was decaying and no rent deal could be reached with the owner.

The ground lies in Blšany and is used mostly for football, currently in the Czech Fourth Division. The pitch had to be widened to the required 68 metres during the 2003 reconstruction, and floodlights were added later in 2004. Check the fixture list before travelling, as matches are not held weekly.

In the spring of 1996, FC Union Cheb played its entire league spring season at Blšany because its own Lokomotiva stadium was decaying and the club could not agree on rent with the owner. Blšany thus hosted top-flight football before its own club reached the First League in 1998.
