Velká Amerika, Limestone quarry in Czech Republic
Velká Amerika, also known as the Czech Grand Canyon, is a picturesque, partially flooded limestone quarry located near Morina village, in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic.
The quarry was active from the early 20th century until 1963, when operations ceased.
Velká Amerika has been used as a filming location for several movies and television series due to its unique landscape.
It's not allowed to swim or climb in the quarry due to safety reasons.
Despite its name, Velká Amerika has no connection with the United States.
