Michalovice Castle

Michalovice Castle is a medieval ruin near Podlázky situated close to the Jizera River in Czech lands. The remains feature a distinctive cylindrical tower built from cut stones that stands out on the landscape.

The Lords of Michalovice constructed this fortress during the late 13th century on the site of an earlier manor. A destructive event in the early 18th century left lasting damage that shaped its current appearance.

The ruins show how nobility once ruled the land and displayed their power through stone and structure. Visitors can sense how this place shaped the region's identity and remains a symbol of medieval influence in the landscape.

The main tower, called Putna, noticeably leans to one side as a result of an explosion in the early 18th century. This tilted stance makes it a striking feature that catches visitors off guard.
