The Gothic ruins of Michalovice Castle stand near the Jizera River, with its cylindrical tower constructed from regular, cubiform stones.
The Lords of Michalovice built this castle during the second half of the 13th century, replacing an earlier manor house on the site.
The ruins feature a bronze plaque commemorating visits by Czech poet Karel Hynek Mácha, who documented the castle in his travel sketchbook.
The castle entrance provides souvenirs, postcards, and an audio panel presenting information about the structure's history and its leaning tower.
The castle's main tower, known as Putna, leans at a noticeable angle due to an explosion that occurred before 1738.
