Trolejbusový památník na Orionce, Transportation memorial in Vinohrady, Prague, Czech Republic

The Trolejbusový památník na Orionce is a memorial at náměstí U Orionky in Vinohrady, Prague 10, built on the former Orionka trolleybus loop. It consists of a platform, a stop sign with the number of the last line and a memorial plaque, four trolley poles and two spans of overhead wire about 20 m long.

The memorial was established in 2010 to honor the trolleybus network that served Prague for decades. The system was phased out in the mid-20th century as the city shifted toward different transportation solutions.

The stop sign at the memorial bears the number of the last line, 51, and a memorial plaque; four trolley poles stand around it, two carrying about 20 metres of overhead wire. Three of the poles are renovated 1939 columns that survived until 2009 in Peroutkova Street, where trolleybuses ran to the Waltrovka factory from 1939 to 1969.

The memorial stands on náměstí U Orionky in Vinohrady, Prague 10, beside the former Královské Vinohrady depot, on the site of the old loop that later served as a car park. The original roadway, paving and kerbstones survived there from 1972 until the site was rebuilt in 2010. The platform, the stop sign with the last line number and memorial plaque, and the four trolley poles with about 20 m of overhead wire are outdoors and freely viewable.

The site marks the exact spot where trolleybuses made their final runs before the entire system was shut down. This specific location makes it a rare record of those last operating days.
