Svinec, Nature reserve in Nový Jičín, Czech Republic
Svinec is a 547-metre peak in the Štramberk Highlands, part of the Western Carpathians, near Nový Jičín. Its northern slopes are wooded, while the summit and southern slopes are open meadows and shrub belts. A ski area with a 470-metre slope and 120-metre drop operates on the hill.
The area was officially protected in 1995 to preserve its natural habitats and special ecosystems. This conservation measure was an important step to safeguard this valuable landscape for future generations.
