Holašovické Stonehenge, Megalithic circle in Jankov, Czech Republic
Holašovické Stonehenge is an arrangement of 25 granite stones positioned in a circular formation across an open lawn. The stones are placed according to specific alignments and together create a geometric pattern within the landscape.
The stone circle was constructed by a local builder using granite stones collected from the surrounding region. This project represented a modern recreation of traditional megalithic forms and structures.
The stone circle serves as a gathering place where people come together during seasonal celebrations and outdoor events. Visitors use the site to connect with the natural cycles and the surrounding landscape.
The site is easily accessible on foot and can be visited freely since it sits on open ground. Visitors should come prepared for weather since the open lawn offers little shelter.
Behind the circle stands a massive granite monolith that ranks among the largest standing stones in the region. This later addition gives the site extra visual weight and presence when you walk through it.
