Zimní stadion Ostrava-Poruba, Indoor ice rink in Ostrava-Poruba, Czech Republic.
Zimní stadion Ostrava-Poruba is an indoor ice rink located in the Poruba district of Ostrava with a full-size hockey playing surface. Seating surrounds the ice where spectators watch games and competitive events throughout the season.
The rink opened on 4 November 1977 as an uncovered stadium, built on the site of a former mortar plant; the first league match on 17 November 1977 ended in a 2:3 loss to Šumperk. A second training ice rink was added in December 1990, and after a roof was completed the covered arena reopened on 26 October 1998. Since 1 November 2015 it has been officially named RT TORAX ARENA.
The arena is home to HC RT Torax Poruba and also serves as HC Vítkovice Ridera's backup venue for Extraliga games when the Ostravar Aréna is unavailable. Outside the winter season the second ice sheet becomes badminton courts, and the public skates or plays curling here. The site hosted the 2001 men's European volleyball championship and the 2005 European futsal championship.
The arena sits next to Poruba's listed main post office, near Hlavní třída and Porubská 832 primary school. The second ice sheet becomes badminton courts outside the winter season, and the building also houses a hotel and restaurant. The main hall holds 4200 spectators, 2603 of them seated.
The main ice surface was narrowed in 2023–2024 to NHL dimensions, and the arena now seats 4,200 spectators, 2,603 of them seated. The second rink, roofed in 2003, becomes badminton courts outside the winter season.
