The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary stands at 718 meters elevation with two prismatic towers adorned with quadrilateral pyramidal tops.
The site has hosted religious structures since the 13th century, with the current basilica construction starting in 1721 under architect Ignác Josef Cyrani.
The western facade features a large mosaic of the Virgin Mary, composed of 260,000 glass pieces imported from Italy, created in 1912.
The basilica functions as a pilgrimage center with accommodation facilities and includes access to the Stations of the Cross designed by Dušan Jurkovič.
A natural spring emerged at this location during a 13th-century Tatar siege, providing water to local refugees seeking protection on the hill.
