Beniesova vila

Beniesova vila is a two-story brick building with a flat roof and cubist architectural design from the early 1900s. The house features hexagonal windows and geometric forms throughout, with a Star of David-shaped skylight illuminating the interior staircase.

The villa was designed in 1912 by architect Emil Králíček for Michael Benies, a prominent figure in the local sugar industry. Benies departed the region before World War II, after which the building changed hands.

The interior decorations reference sugar crystal formations, connecting the building to the region's industrial heritage. These details reveal how the owner's profession shaped the home's artistic identity.

The building is currently not open to visitors and is in poor structural condition requiring extensive repairs. You can view it from outside to appreciate its architectural features and geometric details.

The villa was one of the first buildings in Bohemia to feature a flat roof, an architectural choice that was radical for its time. This innovation helped pave the way for modern residential designs that became common across the region later.
