New Building CTU, Educational complex in Dejvice, Czech Republic
New Building CTU is an educational structure in Dejvice with eight floors above ground and three basement levels arranged in a distinctive L-shaped form. The design features protruding lecture hall sections that visibly stand out from the main structure.
The structure was built following an architectural competition held in 2004 and opened in 2011. This design process involved reviewing numerous proposals before the final choice was made.
The building houses faculties dedicated to architecture and information technology, serving as a workspace where students from different technical fields study side by side. This setting naturally encourages cross-disciplinary teamwork and discussion.
The building has ample parking available and multiple elevators to help visitors navigate between the many floors. Restroom facilities are distributed throughout different levels for easy access.
The protruding lecture halls are covered with colored metal enamel shingles in shades of orange, red, and purple, making them stand out strikingly from the rest of the structure. This bold color treatment is immediately noticeable from the street.
