Klein Palace

Klein Palace is a city palace on Freedom Square featuring large cast-iron oriel windows distributed across its entire facade. The structure displays formal rooms on the ground level and residential spaces on upper floors, typical of grand townhouses built for wealthy Brno families of that era.

The palace was designed and built in 1847 by architect Ludwig Förster, exemplifying Brno's growing architectural prominence in the nineteenth century. Its construction coincided with a period when wealthy industrial families displayed their power through monumental residences erected in the city center.

The building takes its name from the industrial family that lived here and made their fortune in iron production. Its architectural style reflects the wealth and status that such successful business families held in 19th-century Brno.
