The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is a baroque building in Třebovice with an ornately designed facade and richly decorated interior spaces. The church interior features classical baroque characteristics, including curved architectural lines, decorative details, and artistic wall paintings.

A wooden church is documented here as early as 1553. In 1738 a masonry Baroque church was built on its site, and in 1931 the interior was decorated with paintings designed by the Vienna painter Josef Kleinert. The building has been a protected cultural monument since 2 March 2011.

The church is the oldest Marian church in Ostrava and the second there dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, after the church in Michálkovice. A tomb of the Stonawski (Protestant) and Scholz families adjoins the church wall; the writer Maria Stona is buried there.

The site functions as an active parish church with regular Catholic services and welcomes visitors. It is best to check opening times beforehand and be respectful of services if visiting during scheduled worship times.
