The Kočičí skály features sandstone rock formations extending over 750 meters along the northeastern slope of Mount Ostaš.
The Ministry of Education and Culture designated this area as a protected natural monument on July 4, 1956, establishing conservation measures.
The southern section contains a cave known as the Czech Brethren Cave, which holds importance for local heritage preservation.
Visitors can reach the site by following the green-marked hiking trail from Police nad Metují through established pathways.
The rock formations create two small rock cities on Mount Ostaš, displaying specific geological patterns in the Upper Cretaceous sandstone.
