Windmill in Bukovany, Observation tower in Bukovany, Czech Republic
The Bukovansky mlyn is a tower about 15 meters tall standing on a hilltop in a small village in Southern Moravia, with views spreading across the surrounding landscape. From the top you can see fields, orchards, and vineyards that spread across the region toward the horizon.
The tower was built in 2004, bringing a new landmark to the village and attracting visitors to the area. It has since become a regular destination for people exploring the countryside of Southern Moravia.
The third floor displays traditional Moravian Slovak cooking spaces from the early 20th century with period equipment and furnishings. Walking through these rooms, you can see how families in this region prepared meals and organized their kitchens generations ago.
The tower is easily reached on foot, with a small staircase leading to the top platform. There is parking available nearby and cafes in the village where you can rest before or after your visit.
On clear days, the observation platform offers views stretching over 100 kilometers toward Kobyla Hill near Bratislava. This unusually far-reaching perspective makes a visit on a clear day especially rewarding.
