The stone castle displays pointed arches, steep-pitched roofs, and decorative elements characteristic of Gothic Revival architecture across its exterior walls and towers.
The castle dates back to 1545, when it was constructed on the site of a former fortress, and underwent substantial Gothic Revival modifications during subsequent centuries.
The Museum of Southern Pilsen Region occupies the castle interior, presenting exhibitions about regional history, traditions, and local craftwork throughout multiple rooms.
Visitors can reach the castle by taking a regional train to Blovice station, followed by a 15-minute walk through the town center to Hradiště.
The castle library contains extensive collections of historical documents and manuscripts relating to the Plzeň-South District dating from the 16th century.
