Bobří vodopád, Cascade waterfall in Loučky, Czech Republic.
Bobří waterfall is a cascading drop in Loučky that plunges about 8 meters over dark volcanic rocks shaped by the Bobří stream. The water flows continuously through a narrow gorge surrounded by these basalt formations, creating a narrow but striking natural feature.
This waterfall formed through the erosion of the Bobří stream cutting through volcanic basalt in the České středohoří mountains over thousands of years. The natural carving created both the main drop and the surrounding rock formations visible today.
Local outdoor groups regularly gather at this natural site, establishing it as a central meeting point for nature exploration in northern Bohemia.
The waterfall can be reached via a clearly marked green hiking trail starting from Verneřice village, roughly a 500 meter walk from the parking area. The path can be slippery after rain, so good footwear is helpful for navigating the rocky terrain safely.
A second cascade sits roughly 100 meters downstream, creating a rare double-waterfall setup in this geological formation. This arrangement is uncommon for basalt formations in northern Bohemia and draws photographers interested in capturing both falls in one visit.
