Vinohrady Water Tower, Water tower in Vinohrady, Czech Republic
The Vinohrady Water Tower reaches 40 meters in height and features Renaissance Revival architecture with four statues of angels at each corner of the structure.
Built in 1882, the tower contained steam engines and an underground reservoir that supplied drinking water to the districts of Strašnice, Žižkov, and Vršovice until 1912.
The tower, designed by architect Antonin Turek, represents the technological progress of late 19th-century Prague through its engineering and architectural elements.
Located near Jiřího z Poděbrad Metro station on Line A, the structure now houses offices and apartments following its 1993 interior conversion.
The tower features four clock faces surrounded by medallions that commemorate the significance of the Vinohrady district.
