Dřínov Castle, Château in Dřínov, Czech Republic

Dřínov Castle is a rectangular main building with two wings and one tower, standing in the middle of the village of Dřínov. Its core hides the foundations of a Renaissance chateau built between 1653 and 1667, later partly Gothicised in 1875. A chapel of St. Catherine was added to the south facade around 1775.

A fortress here is documented in 1414, when its owner raided surrounding farms. Between 1653 and 1667 the Skrbenští z Hříště or Přepyšští z Rychmburka rebuilt it as a smaller Renaissance chateau, whose foundations lie in today's east and south wings. The Walderods, owners from 1753, added the Chapel of St Catherine to the south facade around 1775.

Dřínov Castle maintains its status as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic, representing the nation's architectural evolution during the Gothic Revival period.

Guided tours of the castle opened to the public in spring 2024 while repairs continue, so access depends on the ongoing works. The building stands in the middle of Dřínov village in the Kroměříž district, with the Chapel of St. Catherine attached to its southern facade.

The core of the present building hides a Renaissance chateau from 1653–1667, built on the site of a fortress first documented in 1414. The Chapel of St. Catherine was added to the south facade around 1775 by the Walderod family.
