Výrov

Výrov is a castle ruin perched on elevated ground near Nové Město nad Metují in eastern Bohemia. The remaining stone walls and foundations reveal how rooms, towers, and defensive structures were once arranged across the site.

The fortress was built in medieval times to serve both as a military stronghold and a residence for the local nobility. It was eventually abandoned, leaving behind the stone remains that visitors encounter today.

The ruins can be reached via marked hiking trails from the town center and are accessible year-round. Sturdy footwear is recommended since the ground is uneven and stone surfaces can be slippery, especially after rain.
