Věznice Břeclav, Gefängnis in Tschechien
Věznice Břeclav is a prison facility in the town of Břeclav in the Czech Republic that houses male inmates serving sentences under different security levels. The facility is designed to hold approximately 196 prisoners in the main section and an additional 27 in holding cells, with a functional structure focused on security and order.
The facility was established in 1997 and originally served as both a detention and sentencing prison. Since 2006 it has been used exclusively for male inmates serving time under supervised or closed custody conditions.
Visits take place at scheduled times and are subject to strict rules regarding what visitors can bring and how they must behave. The facility is highly organized with security checks for all visitors and monitored areas to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
The facility was later expanded with an additional location in Poštorná that opened in 2015, significantly increasing overall capacity. This expansion allowed for more inmates to be accommodated and made it possible to manage different security levels more flexibly.
