Hájek Monastery

Hájek Monastery is a Franciscan monastery in Červený Újezd featuring Baroque architecture with stone walls and ornate chapels. Multiple religious buildings are arranged around a central courtyard to form the complete complex.

The monastery was founded in 1659 and built upon an earlier chapel constructed between 1623 and 1625. The main complex was completed by 1681.

The site continues to serve as a spiritual center where local people gather for ceremonies and religious observances. Visitors can sense how the buildings remain actively used for prayer and community meetings.

The monastery is accessible via a marked pilgrimage path from Prague. Guided tours are available during designated opening hours.

The monastery grounds feature gardens where monks cultivated medicinal herbs and maintained agricultural traditions over several centuries. These gardens still show the historical growing practices of the community.
