Hotel Otava stands at the intersection of Komenské and Chlečické streets, featuring neo-Renaissance architecture with symmetrical street facades and corner oriel windows.
The hotel, established in 1899 by pharmacist Rudolf Dvořáček, occupies a V-shaped plot near the former site of Budějovická Gate at the edge of medieval fortifications.
The building displays eleven painted scenes between its first and second floors, depicting historical events of Písek, created by Josef Bosáček based on Mikoláš Aleš designs.
The three-story structure includes a courtyard with annexes that provides supply access for the restaurant and hotel operations through a dedicated service entrance.
The facades incorporate decorative human head keystones and plant ornaments above window openings, with rusticated corner pilasters contrasting against smooth wall sections.
