The Church of the Assumption stands on a hill with a glass roof allowing natural light to illuminate the interior through transparent panels.
Built between 1723 and 1733, the church suffered severe damage in 1945 when a Soviet Army projectile caused a fire destroying its roof.
The church serves as a pilgrimage destination since the 17th century, drawing visitors from across the region to its religious ceremonies and events.
The church maintains continuous access for visitors, while specific hours apply for tower visits and guided tours of the reconstruction process.
The reconstruction preserved the damaged walls without a ceiling for decades until 2007, when architects installed an innovative glass roof structure.
