Church of Saint Mary, Church ruin in Dolní Kounice, Czech Republic

The Church of Saint Mary in Dolní Kounice is a ruined Gothic church with a single nave, transept and long polygonal presbytery. Its west facade retains a richly carved Gothic portal with a relief of Christ blessing, the letters alpha and omega, and a trefoil gable. A small tower with a pyramidal brick roof stands at the southwest corner.

The church was built in the 13th century as an important place of worship and served for centuries before gradually deteriorating into its current state. Its decline resulted from abandonment and the impact of historical changes affecting the surrounding region.
