The Church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary combines Gothic foundations with Baroque modifications, featuring side chapels and elaborate interior frescoes. The painted decoration gives the interior visual depth and shows the layers of artistic work done over centuries.

The church was founded in 1293 as part of a Dominican monastery but suffered major fires in 1513 and 1669 that required reconstruction. These events shaped the building into what visitors see today.

The church was deconsecrated and since April 2005 has served the public for cultural and social events, including concerts and performances. Its Baroque furnishings were made between the second half of the 17th century and the mid-18th century. The side chapel of St John of Nepomuk has ceiling frescoes by Ignác Oderlický of Uničov, painted in 1753.

The crypt beneath the presbytery was built in the first third of the 18th century for burying Dominican friars; the Žerotín family tomb near the main altar was destroyed when it was constructed. The church has been deconsecrated since 2005 and now serves cultural and social events.
