Kratochvílova rozhledna, Observation tower in Roudnice nad Labem, Czech Republic.
Kratochvílova rozhledna is an observation tower in Roudnice nad Labem with a concrete structure and circular base. Six slender columns rise 13 meters (43 feet) to support the viewing platform at the top.
The tower was built in 1934 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Rolnická záložna Podřipská bank. A memorial plaque honors banker Václav Kratochvíl, after whom the structure is named.
The tower displays functionalist design from the 1930s with copper plates showing panoramic maps of the surrounding area. Visitors see how the architect Otakar Štěpánek applied modern building ideas of that era through this structure.
The viewing platform is open daily and offers clear sightlines across the town and surrounding area. Parking is available nearby on Dr. Slavíka street, making vehicle access straightforward.
The tower sits at 208 meters above sea level, making it one of the lowest-positioned observation towers in the country. Despite this modest elevation, its exposed location allows wide views across the surrounding landscape.
