Kulivá hora, Nature reserve in Třebotov, Czech Republic.
Kulivá hora is a protected natural area north of the Švarcava stream that covers a forested slope with varied topography. The reserve contains open grasslands, rocky outcrops, and mixed oak and hornbeam forests distributed across the terrain.
The area became a protected natural site in 1972, gaining official recognition for its geological and ecological value. This designation allowed the natural communities and rock formations to remain largely undisturbed.
The place holds meaning as a location where people can observe how nature works in practice, with different plant and animal communities existing side by side. Visitors can see these relationships unfold across the slope as they walk through the various zones.
Marked trails guide visitors through the different parts of the reserve and make it easy to explore at your own pace. Spring and autumn are good times to visit when the paths are clear and weather conditions are comfortable for walking.
The rocks found here hold clues about past environmental conditions that researchers worldwide use to understand regional geological history. Many scientific discoveries about the area's development have come from detailed study of these stone formations.
