Church of Saint Bartholomew and the Assumption of Virgin Mary, Roman Catholic parish church in Doksy, Liberec Region, Czech Republic

The Church of Saint Bartholomew and the Assumption of Virgin Mary is a baroque church located in the center of Doksy. The building displays characteristic features of this architectural style with curved lines, detailed stonework, and tall windows that allow soft light to fill the interior space.

The early baroque church was built around 1638 on the site of an older wooden church, designed by the north Italian architect Bernard Canevalle, who died in 1691 and is buried inside with a memorial slab. Chapels of St Barbara (1748) and the Holy Cross (1754) were added to the nave, the tower was raised in 1832, and the building has been a protected cultural monument since 1965.

The church's most venerated object is a copy of the enthroned Virgin of Montserrat, nicknamed the Black Madonna, venerated by Spanish Montserrat Benedictines at Bezděz from 1666 to 1785 and moved to Doksy in 1786 after Joseph II dissolved that monastery. The side chapels of St Barbara (1748) and the Holy Cross (1754) hold their own altars.

The church stands in the centre of Doksy near Mácha Lake, in the Česká Lípa district. The single nave opens into a five-sided presbytery, with a rectangular sacristy and oratory on the south side; the tower holds a sacristy at ground level and an oratory above. It is still an active parish church, so visits fit around services.

The most valuable piece is a copy of the enthroned Virgin of Montserrat with the Christ Child, nicknamed the Black Madonna. Spanish Montserrat Benedictines venerated it at Bezděz from 1666 to 1785; after Joseph II dissolved that monastery it was moved to Doksy in 1786.
