Church of Saint Francis of Assisi in Krč, Catholic church in Krč, Czech Republic

The Church of Saint Francis of Assisi is a single-nave wooden filial church of the Michle parish, built in 1941 on the grounds of the former Habrovka vineyard estate in Dolní Krč. It has a gabled roof covered with tiles and a simple exterior; the interior was designed by architect Jaroslav Čermák, while engineer-architect Emanuel Hruška designed the structure and exterior.

Plans for a church in Krč began in the 1930s, when the Spolek pro výstavbu kostela was founded on 22 September 1935 under JUC Václav Welz, who donated half the land. Because of the Second World War the parish chose a single-nave wooden provisional church with a tiled gable roof, designed by Emanuel Hruška (structure and exterior) and Jaroslav Čermák (interior and altar). Construction started on 8 December 1941 and was finished within two weeks, by Christmas.

The church is a filial church of the Michle parish, and its patron saint was chosen by Grand Master Josef Vlasák, one of the main patrons of the Knights of the Cross with the Red Star. Since 2003 the grounds host the Habrovka music festival every year in early June.

The wooden church stands on the grounds of the former Habrovka vineyard estate in Dolní Krč, in a spot called Na Habrovce. A music festival, Habrovka, has been held in the church grounds every year since 2003, always in early June. The building is a single nave with a gabled roof covered in tiles.

The wooden church was built in just two weeks, from 8 December 1941 to Christmas, so the midnight Mass could be held there. The organ is not from 1702; the interior holds a white-painted carving of the Virgin Mary of Karlov, patroness of mothers and pregnant women.
