Church of Saint John the Baptist, Gothic church in Dvůr Králové nad Labem, Czech Republic
The Church of Saint John the Baptist features a prominent 64-meter tower, three naves separated by columns with polygonal pedestals, and a cross-shaped vault interior.
Built in 1345 to replace a Romanesque basilica, the church underwent major reconstruction between 1893 and 1900, which included extending the tower and restoring Gothic elements.
The church gained attention in 1817 when Václav Hanka found a manuscript in its tower dungeon, later determined to be a forgery yet influential in Czech literature.
