The fortification stands on a triangular promontory above the left bank of the Sázava River, with an elevation difference of 80-100 meters.
The settlement emerged between the 9th and 10th centuries and remained active until the 12th century, serving as a strategic point along important trade routes.
The Gothic Church of Saint Clement within the fortress represents architectural traditions of medieval Bohemian religious structures in the Central Bohemian region.
Visitors can access the site through the eastern entrance, which features a 273-meter-long curved rampart reaching heights of 5 meters.
The fortress contains archaeological evidence of stone foundations measuring 3.4 to 4.4 meters wide, supported by wooden reinforcements and earth-stone materials.
