Husův sbor, Hussite church in Nová Ulice, Olomouc, Czech Republic.
Husův sbor is a neoclassical church building with a dome-shaped roof topped by a lantern and a distinctive goblet-shaped tower positioned behind the main structure. The design combines classical church elements with early modern architectural details.
Construction took place between 1924 and 1926 following architectural designs by Pavel Janák that incorporated constructivist principles. The project emerged to serve the religious needs of new generations following Czechoslovak independence.
Inside, visitors can see a tall statue of Christ sculpted by Jan Znoj alongside carved reliefs showing apostles and Czech reformers. These artworks shape how the space feels when you walk through it.
The building sits at U Husova sboru in Olomouc and is easy to reach by foot from the city center. Access to the main prayer area requires climbing stairs flanked by six pillars, which may affect some visitors.
Beneath the main floors lies a columbarium that few visitors notice while they explore the upper spaces. This underground feature connects the sacred function above with remembrance of those who have passed.
