Loutkové divadlo Radost

Loutkové divadlo Radost is a puppet theatre in Brno presenting performances throughout the year for both children and adults using various puppet styles and techniques. The venue features a diverse repertoire of productions that draw on different artistic forms and theatrical approaches.

The theatre was founded in 1945 and gained national status in 1949. During the 1950s, it toured across Asia performing in Vietnam, Mongolia, India, and Indonesia.

The theatre presents traditional Czech fairy tales alongside modern productions, weaving together music, poetry, and contemporary theatrical approaches. Visitors experience how classic stories come alive through these fresh artistic perspectives.

Since 1994, director Vlastimil Peška has worked simultaneously as playwright, composer, and scenographer, creating productions where all artistic elements serve a single vision. This unified approach through one artist's hands gives the theatre its distinctive character.
