Mcely Castle

Mcely Castle is a baroque hunting lodge located in the Mcely region, about one hour from Prague. The building contains 24 individually designed rooms across two main floors, with the first floor representing continents and the second floor honoring notable historical guests.

The Thurn-Taxis family, pioneers of European postal systems, used this castle for social gatherings and receptions. Writers such as Mark Twain and Rainer Maria Rilke attended events held within these walls.

The on-site restaurant sources vegetables and herbs from the castle gardens to prepare traditional Czech cuisine. Ingredients grown in the surrounding beds shape the flavor of each dish served to guests.

Today the castle operates as a five-star hotel with a spa offering natural treatments and wellness services. The forest location near Mcely provides easy access for day visitors and overnight guests alike.
