Ostra horka, Observation tower in Soběšice, Czech Republic
Ostra horka is a wooden observation tower in Soběšice that rises roughly 19 meters high and provides a viewing platform. From the top you can see across the landscape around Brno, including Spilberk castle and Petrov cathedral.
The tower was completed in 2008 after a period of construction. The project was funded through municipal support and contributions from the local community.
Local residents gather at the tower throughout the year for community events while photographers capture images of Spilberk castle and Petrov cathedral from above.
The tower is reached via a forest path marked with yellow signs. Wear sturdy shoes and be prepared for slippery conditions, especially after rain.
The structure has a noticeable tilt that becomes apparent as you climb to the top. Wind gusts at the summit add to the sensation and make the ascent memorable.
