Novopacký vodopád, Natural waterfall monument in Vidochov, Czech Republic.
Novopacký vodopád consists of two waterfalls carved into sandstone cliffs along a forest stream. The upper cascade descends over rock formations, while the lower one drops through layered geological structures that shape its character.
The waterfalls received protected status in 1980 through a decision by district authorities. This designation recognized the geological importance of the sandstone formation and its value to the natural environment.
The waterfalls are part of the Sýkornice Nature Park, established in 1984, which includes educational trails for visitors to learn about local geology.
You can reach the waterfalls by following marked trails from nearby villages that wind through the forest. Rest areas are positioned along the route, and the paths are clearly marked for navigation.
The lower cascade sits beneath a natural stone overhang that extends like a roof above the falling water. This unusual geological feature creates the feeling of standing inside a large stone chamber.
