Heinrich Koch designed this château in 1562 on a site formerly occupied by a fortress from the first half of the 15th century. This transformation marked a shift from defensive architecture to a Renaissance residence.

The building currently serves as a Children's Home and is not open for regular visits, though it maintains its historical structures. Visitors can appreciate the exterior façade and architecture from outside.
Johann Mořic von Liebieg added wine cellars and hunting halls during early 20th century renovations. These underground spaces reflect the luxury favored by nobility of that era.
