Náměšť nad Oslavou Castle

Náměšť nad Oslavou Castle is a stone structure rising above the Oslava River with Renaissance and Gothic features integrated throughout. The complex arranges multiple wings around courtyards, with fortification walls and towers remaining from different construction periods.

A Gothic fortress existed here around 1300 and underwent major rebuilding between 1565 and 1578 when architect Gialdi transformed it into a Renaissance château. This transformation reflected changing tastes for more refined living and display that swept through Europe during that era.

The castle houses collections of furniture and artworks spanning different periods, showing how wealthy families lived within its walls. Visitors can observe period room arrangements and daily objects that reflect the tastes of past inhabitants.
