The museum occupies the former Waldstein Castle, featuring exhibitions about local history, traditional lifestyles, and natural sciences across multiple permanent galleries.
Established in 1898, the museum preserves the memory of Antonín Kalina, who saved 900 Jewish children from Buchenwald concentration camp during World War II.
The permanent exhibitions include Portals and Gates, Natural Sciences, Waldsteins in Třebíč, and People Places Destinies, presenting regional heritage through artifacts.
The museum opens daily from July to August between 9:00-12:00 and 13:00-17:00, with admission prices at 80 CZK for adults and 40 CZK for reduced tickets.
A detailed scale model created by Stanislav Vrška shows Třebíč as it appeared in 1835, spanning 27 square meters at a 1:100 scale.
