Municipal Theatre of Mladá Boleslav, Theatre building in Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic

The Municipal Theatre of Mladá Boleslav is a professional theatre in a Secession building on Palackého Street, built in 1905–1909. Its façade is dominated by two massive pylons carrying Jan Štursa's sculptural groups Probuzení národa and Vítězství umění, with a seated muse Thálie above the entrance. A second, alternative stage, the Malá scéna with a theatre club, was created in the basement during the 1977–1985 reconstruction.

The theatre opened in 1909 as a result of collaboration between the renowned architectural partnership Fellner & Helmer and local architects Emil Králík and Jan Kříženecký. Its creation marked the development of Mladá Boleslav as a cultural centre in the region during the early 20th century.

The theatre serves as a gathering place for artists and audiences from across the region, hosting both local and national productions. The interior spaces reflect the cultural life of the city through regular events that bring together people of different ages and interests.

The theatre stands in the corner of the Výstaviště park on Palackého Street, near two grammar schools and a Sokol hall. The main entrance is reached by a wide central staircase or a U-shaped asphalt ramp, and a barrier-free toilet was added in 2010. The building is a listed cultural monument.

The second, smaller stage was created in the basement during the 1977–1985 general renovation, not part of the 1909 design. The theatre's most awarded production is Karel Poláček's Muži v offsidu, which was filmed and broadcast by Czech Television together with Guy de Maupassant's Miláček and Molière's Scapinova šibalství.
