Petrov is a rocky spur in the Brno-střed district, in the south-western part of the Město Brno cadastral area. It is crowned by the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, whose foundations date from the 12th century and which was later rebuilt in Baroque and Neo-Gothic forms. The cathedral silhouette appears on the Czech ten-crown coin.

The Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul on Petrov has foundations from the 12th century, making it likely the oldest church in central Brno. It was later rebuilt in Baroque and Neo-Gothic styles. The whole Petrov complex was protected as a cultural monument in 1958 and as a national cultural monument in 1998.

Inside the cathedral, modern expressionist Stations of the Cross by artist Jiří Marek bring contemporary art into this sacred space. These works show how the place continues to evolve while maintaining its spiritual purpose.

The hill is accessible via several paved pathways connected to the city center that make the climb manageable. The routes are clearly marked and suitable for walking visitors.
