Petrovice Castle

Petrovice Castle is a baroque château in a Prague suburb with a white facade and symmetrical layout. The building extends across three floors and displays traditional baroque architectural elements through its two distinct wings.

The château was built in the 18th century and later served as headquarters for German military forces during World War II. After the war, the building went through different phases of use before reaching its current state.

The castle takes its name from the village of Petrovice and reflects the architectural language of 18th-century Bohemian nobility. Visitors can observe the classical proportions and formal layouts that were typical for aristocratic residences of that era.

The château is located in the southeastern part of Prague near Edisonova Street and can be reached by public transport. Visitors should be aware that the building is currently not open for tours.

The castle was used for many years as a school building and played an important role in educating the local community. This transformation from an aristocratic villa to a public educational facility shows how the building's purpose changed through the 20th century.
